A large proportion of funding for the 21st Century Schools programme will be for delivering refurbished, remodelled and extended schools; over 80% of the funding potentially being spent within south Wales.

In response to this, the Design Commission for Wales has invited Gerard Ryan and Andy Gowing from Nicholas Hare Architects to co-host their design seminar to explore what makes a good remodelled school and to share our experience.

There will be an opportunity for some strategic issues to be discussed and they will present case studies of our award winning project Coleridge Primary School in London and Bristol Cathedral Choir School to see how practical innovations have been delivered. A good remodelling project can transform existing buildings, educational aspirations and provide a series of fresh and flexible spaces.

The talk takes place in Cardiff on Wednesday 25th of April.
