"We know as a school that this new build is not simply about a new building, it is in fact a complete transformation of everything that relates to learning for students."
Tess Walker, Principal

Our new Ormiston Park Academy was handed over in January 2014. Working with Balfour Beatty, this 'Academy in the Park' celebrates its green ethos and the building massing, evocative of a country house, responds to the special landscape - the site of an historic Capability Brown park.

The project is sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust and aims to create inspirational and inclusive learning environments which are also available for the local community. The project includes a specialist building for students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties from across Thurrock. This specialist building has been located and designed to provide a secure but uplifting environment with easy connections to key facilities within the main Academy building to enhance transition into mainstream learning where possible.

The £12m Academy started on site in June 2012 and now accommodates 1,100 students.

"It is a school which is at the forefront of developments in learning aimed at meeting the individual needs of the students."
Steven Berkoff, Academy Patron
