King's Academy Binfield

Bracknell

The King's Academy Binfield is an all-through school, including a nursery, primary (2 FE) and secondary (7 FE) schools and a sixth form. It sits at the heart of a new residential development on the sloping site of an old golf course.

The design places the buildings on the higher part of the site. The L-shaped wing of the primary school extends from one corner at the lower level. The schools are linked to provide efficiencies in the use of catering facilites and a special needs centre.

The secondary school courtyard provides a strong sense of identity and orientation, and the long entrance canopy and front steps give prominence to the regular façade and suggest the importance of the academy within its community.

The proposed learning village in Binfield is an exciting opportunity to build an all-encompassing school from scratch and to ensure that the school’s assets are also available to the wider community.
Bracknell Forest Council
A very exciting project and an opportunity to bring a top quality school to the area.
