A groundbreaking blessing took place yesterday to celebrate the start of construction on Dormers Wells High School. Religious leaders from the Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Church of England, Roman Catholic and Pentecostal faiths gave blessings for the project.

Ken Livingstone, former London Mayor, joined Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, Councillor Patricia Walker, cabinet member for Children and Young People and Maggy Aylott, Head Teacher in breaking the turf in the presence of students, school staff, Balfour Beatty and the team from Nicholas Hare Architects.

The £30million project will see the old school building replaced with a new state-of-the-art facility.
