Professional Development

Our people are our primary resource and so we make sure that we invest in their personal development. Everyone has a unique personal development plan which is regularly reviewed to ensure they have the training they need and can focus on particular skills or interests that inspire them.

We all have lunch together every Monday to share our experiences of the projects running and to develop our professional skills. We invite expert speakers – home grown or external – to keep us up to date across a range of professional and technical topics. These sessions and our professional development generally is coordinated by one of our associates, David Lowe.

The structure of the practice enabled me to gain project experience at all stages of design and development, from understanding the client’s brief and conceptual design, to detailing and construction. This experience was invaluable for gaining my Part III qualification. The practice now continues to support my development as a fully qualified architect.

NHA have encouraged and supported me on my way to becoming a qualified architect, now as a young practitioner, they have given me the opportunity to get involved in the NLA NextGen initiative. This has been a fantastic platform to expand my professional network and to develop my skills and knowledge.
