Nicholas Hare Architects have been selected to design a new home for The London Film School at the Barbican. The new facilities will join a cultural hub of existing art institutions, notably the Barbican arts centre, the Barbican cinemas and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. It will provide new cinemas, shooting stages, editing suites, post production facilities as well as a new welcoming entrance and café spaces, teaching and office accommodation within the confines of two levels of the remainder of the unused Exhibition Hall 1.

The move to the Barbican provides exciting new opportunities to embrace state-of-the-art technologies and develop a robust flexible backbone for the future development of The London Film School.

"The London Film School will be a perfect addition to the developing cultural hub in the Barbican area."
Sir Nicholas Kenyon
Managing Director, Barbican

"This move will take our work forward a major step."
Mike Leigh OBE
Chairman, The London Film School
