UCL School of Management features in Architecture Today - March/April 2021

Our School of Mangement project for UCL has featured in an acoustics-focused case study for Architecture Today magazine: UCL School of Management Architecture Today.

Located on the top floor of Canary Wharf's iconic office building, One Canada Square, the School of Management’s (SoM) new home is in the heart of London’s business and finance centre. This enables SoM to foster relationships with leading business and financial organisations, providing benefits in terms of research, education and internships.

Acoustic quality was paramount in delivering excellent learning spaces within a pre-existing office building context. NHA worked in collaboration with Buro Happold Acoustics. Inserting specialist teaching rooms into an office building with existing constraints demanded particular attention to services distribution routes and sealing effectively around penetrations. Room acoustics for teaching and learning spaces as well as more informal social spaces were carefully modelled to optimise the internal acoustic environment.
