The new NHA designed Student Centre at UCL officially opened its doors to students on Monday 18 February.

As the final major project in the transformation of the Bloomsbury campus, the Student Centre will be a central focal point for study, events and student life.

The new building is located on Gordon Street and provides 1,000 study seats including flexible spaces designed to facilitate collaborative and research-based learning.

Sustainability has been a key focus for the project and it is currently on track to attain the highest possible BREEAM 'Outstanding' certification, a significant achievement matched by only a handful of buildings in the UK.

The building's publicly accessible ground floors create a new, accessible east-west connection across the UCL Campus between Gordon Street and Gower Street.

In the short time since its opening, the 24/7 facility has already proved to be a huge success with students, with high levels use from early till late.
