Nicholas Hare Architects' first major office project was for property developers Stanhope.
Facing the borough council offices in Staines, it replaced a 1960s block with a four-storey glass and steel office building, incorporating an early example of a large top-lit 'U'-shaped atrium to provide the social focus for the building.
