London Design Festival

17 September 2016
Exhibitions

British manufacturer Case Furniture will host a showcase of architectural models in its Wandsworth showroom for this year's London Design Festival. Each model represents a new vision for London, either built, planned or imagined, with models including bold new ideas for the capital’s public space, transport system and homes.

Nicholas Hare Architects' model of the New Student Centre for UCL, made by in-house modelmaker Marianne Weineck, is exhibited in the showroom. There are models and artwork from more than twenty of the capital's top architecture practices, including Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Ranging from mega masterplans and recognisable city skyscrapers to schools, museums and a futuristic totem pole, each exhibit conveys the intricate work that goes into architects' model-making.

Architects' Visions for London will be at Case Furniture, 23 East Hill, Wandsworth SW18 2HZ from 17-24 September.
