The project was to provide the first of the new academic buildings in the University's major expansion at its Manor Park Campus.  Our shortlisted competition design developed a masterplan in which the school is comprised of two parts, the Academic Building and the Clinical Skills Unit.

The Academic Building provides teaching and break out facilities including a raked lecture theatre.  Our proposal placed the academic research offices overlooking the park space and grouped the labs into an efficient and flexible deep floor plan.

The Clinical Skills Unit places the animal holding and examination area in the centre of the plan with haptic, locomotion, and anatomy laboratories around it.  The unit included a mock surgery and a personal skills training centre (for students to practice client management skills and deal with challenging issues such as animal bereavement).
