Carol has been an integral part of NHA since it was founded over 40 years ago. She brings exuberance, dedication and experience from working on an extensive array of projects, predominantly in the education sector and has experience of both new-build and significant refurbishment schemes. This work has included many university projects, ranging from residential to faculty and academic buildings. Key projects include the Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College in Birmingham, which won the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award and recently, two projects at Cambridge University: the Alison Richard Building and the David Attenborough Building.
Carol has been a CABE Enabler and is a longstanding Civic Trust assessor. She was a member of the RIBA/LSC Client Forum and then wrote the Client Guide for the Association of Colleges. She actively supports the work of the NLA, with a focus on initiatives related to educational design and those that encourage and support women in architecture. She has also been a judge at the NLA Education Awards. Carol is now a consultant to the practice.
