The London Film School

The initial design to re-locate the London Film School to the Barbican gained planning and listed building consent, but unfortunately the project was halted.  The new facilities were to join a cultural hub of existing art institutions, notably the Barbican Arts Centre, the Barbican cinemas and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The design provided new cinemas, shooting stages, editing suites, post production facilities as well as a new welcoming entrance, café space, teaching and office accommodation within the confines of two levels of the remainder of the unused Exhibition Hall 1.

NHA have continued to work with the Film School in their search for new premises. A move out of Covent Garden is still on the cards and an alternative location at London City Island will provide exciting new opportunities to embrace state-of-the-art technologies and develop a robust flexible backbone for the future development of the London Film School.

The London Film School is now at its most energetic. We want to offer more skills and creativity to the next digital age.
