Over 20 years at NHA James has worked principally with education and commercial clients. His projects include faculty and student buildings for the University of Wales, student residences in Strasbourg, a large scale HQ complex in Farnborough as well as a number of schools projects delivered through the government’s Academies Framework. James lead the team on the major redevelopment of St Paul’s School, London, a complex phased project involving the design of several high-quality buildings. A highly sensitive planning context, and constructed within a live operational school, the first building was a landmark multi-award winning Science Faculty creating a new entrance to the campus. James has also lead projects for both the Student Centre and the Bloomsbury Theatre at University College London.

James studied at The Bartlett (UCL) and Cardiff University. He has architectural experience working in Malaysia, Iceland, and New Zealand. He joined NHA in 1997 and became a partner in 2012.
